The DAWBA clinical rater's manual

Before looking at specific cases, make sure you:

  • understand how the DAWBA works in general. If not, click here
  • are familiar with the interviews and questionnaires. It is sometimes helpful to print off paper copies to have to hand while you're doing the rating. For access to paper versions of the interviews and questionnaires, click here
  • have read the introduction to the work of the clinical raters. If not, click here


Next, click here to learn to navigate your way round the screens for on-line rating. You will need to be familiar with these in order to use the practice cases.


Finally, you are ready to work through the practice cases, together with the questions and explanations that accompany each one of them. It's up to you to decide whether you are going to:

work through the practice cases in order
focus in turn on different diagnostic categories
